Middle & High School Programs

Teen lounge

The lounge is a place for middle and high school-age youth to hang out with friends, and access academic, social, cultural, recreational, and wellness programs. Programming is offered Monday through Friday from 3 pm and 6 pm. Staff and volunteers are available for one-to-one tutoring and academic support. Teen Nights provide regular social outlets, and organized outings.

Youth employment

Bayview offers two summer youth employment programs. The Bayview Youth Leaders in Training (B.Y.L.i.T.) program, for ages 12-13, focuses on food justice and sustainability through garden work, learning sessions, and weekly skill-building. The Community Leadership Crew (C.L.C.), for ages 14-21, provides paid internships at the Bayview community center, with mentorship, high school credit opportunities, and workshops on workplace skills.

YAAS - Youth advocacy and support program

YAAS is a hybrid of group programming, individual support, and specialized resource referrals for Middle and High School youth. This unique program aims to destigmatize conversations around mental health, increase feelings of emotional and social wellbeing, deconstruct daily challenges, and provide a robust system of support for teenagers.
